Our Property

Living the Dream is a new, custom built, 3 bedroom / 3 bath, single family home located just a short walk from the beach. We take pride in our home and have provided everything we think you will need for a wonderful beach house vacation. This home is spacious, comfortable, clean, and meets or exceeds all the high standards for Vacasa Vacation Rental properties.

The home accommodates 8 with a queen size bed in the master bedroom, a queen size bed in one guest bedroom and twin beds in the second guest bedroom. The master bath features a large, custom, walk-in shower and the queen and twin guest baths have a tub and shower combination. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. There are flat screen TVs in each bedroom and there is a large flat screen TV and AM/FM/CD stereo radio in the living room. DVD's are also provided with each TV. Television programming is provided by DISH Network and there is also free wireless internet access.

The large kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware, utensils, and dishes needed for home cooking or if you prefer there are restaurants nearby. Linens and bedding are provided for you and the house has a full size clothes washer and dryer in a separate utility room. An adequate supply of starter supplies is also provided for your convenience.

"Living the Dream" has key-less entry so there is no need to check in at a rental office or keep track of house keys. Simply drive up, enter your personal secure key code provided by Crye-Leike Vacations, and walk in. Checking out is just as easy.

The home is located in the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, AL in a friendly, beach community where many owners are permanent residents.

Living the Dream offers covered parking and although there is no available boat parking if you bring your boat the Gulf Shores Yacht Club is only 4 miles west on highway 180 where you can berth your boat and find a full-service marina and boat launch. Charter fishing boats are also available at the marina. Additionally, there is a public boat launch just 2 miles to the east on highway 180.

Drive west on Highway 180 for 7 miles from our home and you will arrive at historic Fort Morgan where you can explore this civil war fort and also catch the Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island. On Duaphin Island you can tour Fort Gaines (another civil war era fort), visit the Estuarium, or drive to the Bellingrath Gardens and Home.

Like to play golf? There are two premier golf courses nearby at Kiva Dunes and The Peninsula. There are also several other public golf courses in the Gulf Shores area.

How about water activities? There are several outlets for rental of water sports equipment nearby. And golf cart rentals are also available.

Want to eat out? Tacky Jack's at the Gulf Shores Yacht Club, and Sassy Bass just down the street from our home are excellent choices and reasonably priced. There are also several restaurants at the resorts a short distance away and pizza, ice cream and a small convenience grocery are nearby. If you want more options just make the short drive to Gulf Shores for all the selections of activities and dining you could want.

NOTE

Many owners in the community are permanent residents. For the safety and enjoyment of all owners and other community guests all guests are required to abide by all guest rules adopted by Crye-Leike Vacations and "Living the Dream".

Our home has a maximum occupancy limit of 8 persons.

You must be at least 25 years old to book a reservation at our home.

Due to insurance liability concerns from possible guest misuse the cargo lift may not be used by guests.

This home is located in the adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge in the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, Alabama. It is only steps from the beach; and with only a short 15 minute drive to all the attractions, shopping, events, and restaurants in Gulf Shores this is a perfect vacation get-away.

The wildlife refuge is a 7,000 acre nature preserve that offers several easy trails through saw grass, marsh, and slash pine forest where you can encounter 500 different animal and bird species. The Fort Morgan Peninsula is in the bird and butterfly migration route. In early spring and late fall, the whole peninsula is alive with birds and butterflies including Monarchs and Gulf Fritillaries. In addition to the usual gulls and sand pipers, you may find kestrel, anhinga, osprey, great blue heron, and several different species of hawks, including sharp-shinned and Cooper's. Bring your camera because you won't want to miss a photo of that American Alligator or the other wonderful animals and beautiful plants of the wildlife refuge.

Sorry - Guests May Not Bring Any Animals

Living the Dream is a private residence and NOT a "public accommodation" under Federal or Alabama law. Because some guests may have animal allergies the owners have a strict NO ANIMAL policy prohibiting guest from bringing any animals to the property. This prohibition includes "emotional support" animals and is STRICTLY enforced without exception. Violations of this policy will result in eviction of the guest.

Smoking is Not Permitted

"Living the Dream" is a no smoking residence. The owner's greatly appreciate your help in making the stay for other guests enjoyable through your cooperation in not using tobacco products or smoking any substance including vapeing.

Barbecues Are Not Allowed Under The House

Due to fire and life safety concerns and state and local fire code regulations barbecue grills are not allowed under our house or on the wooden decks. However, there is a barbecue grill and food prep stations conveniently located for our guest's use at the rear of the home.

Local Attractions

The Gulf Shores / Fort Morgan area offers a wealth of attractions for vacationers. Whether you like water sports, fishing, scuba diving, golf, amusement parks, night life, music, movies, shopping, hanging out at the beach to swim, fish or any other activity or just relax Gulf Shores and "Living The Dream" is the place for you.

If you are new to the Gulf Shores area the first thing to do to discover the many attractions is to stop by the Welcome & Visitors Center located at 3459 Gulf Shores Parkway (Hwy 59) in Gulf Shores just North of the Intracostal Waterway. Their telephone number is 251-968-7511 or 1-800-743-7263. The friendly folks there can provide you with lots of information and brochures about local attractions as well as time sensitive things such as dates of the shrimp festival, music festival and other activities.
